A fun, enlightening and educational day packed full of surprises, facts and thrills a Lakeland Walk & Talk activity day is suitable for all ages and abilities, allowing young people to experience the great outdoors in the most wonderful of settings - the Lake District!

With full CRB (DBS) checks in place, risk assessments, public liability insurance and St. Johns Ambulance Activity First Aid qualifications rest assured that your day on the fells will be safe and above all Special!

Typical itineraries for all Lakeland Walks & Talks for Schools commence as follows;

nb. times can be adjusted to suit
  • 8am: Meet at the School
  • 8.15am: Leave in search of The Secret Garden and 300 year old Grotto at Rydal Hall
  • 10am: Arrive at Rydal Hall - time to explore the most amazing homes & gardens in the Lake District
  • 11am: We leave Rydal and head to White Moss where we stay for lunch followed by a walk along the River Rothay in search of a 400 million year old lake. If found we then spend some time taking in the spectacular views along the shore before we make our way to Deerbolts Wood , then to the summit of Loughrigg Fell followed by a visit to Rydal Caves - Special!!
  • 2pm: A visit to Grasmere the Jewel in Lakeland Crown - here we can taste the famous Grasmere gingerbread as we stroll through the village
  • 3pm: Time to head for home with a brief visit to Bowness on Windermere time permitting
  • 6.30pm: Arrive back at school
