Terms & Conditions



  • Through booking with Lakeland Walks & Talks the customer is entering into a contract with Lakeland Walks & Talks
  • Provisional bookings (via website/phone/via email) will be held for a period of 7 days. Within this time full payment should be provided via, PayPal, Bank Transfer or Cheque to confirm the booking.
  • Full payment will be taken as confirmation to Lakeland Walks & Talks that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions upon which a contract between the parties shall be governed.
  • Upon booking confirmation details of all individuals taking part must be provided by the person organising the booking on behalf of all individuals in the party. This be accurate and binding.
  • When making a booking with Lakeland Walks & Talks the customer will agree to; all persons on the booking have read the Terms & Conditions.


  • Full day routes such as Helvellyn and Fairfield Horseshoe are currently charged at £45 / per person.
  • Half day routes such as Easedale Tarn, Helm Crag and Loughrigg Fell are currently charged at £25 / per person.
  • If the 10 person threshold is exceeded charges will drop to the following, £25 and £15 respectively. This is due to the acknowledgement from Lakeland Walks & Talks that the guided experience is at its optimal with smaller group sizes.
  • However, Lakeland Walks & Talks reserves the right to amend pricing after booking if walks are chosen to be extended by the customer whilst taking part in the activity.
  • If walks are extended / adjusted then the outstanding balance must be paid in cash upfront on the day of the activity.
  • Private Guided quotes are valid for 7 days within which time an agreed deposit must be paid.


  • Lakeland Walks & Talks reserves the right to make any changes to a walk or talk due to circumstances beyond our control and will inform you of any changes at the earliest opportunity.
  • In the unlikely event that a Walk or Talk is cancelled by Lakeland Walks & Talks, we will inform the customer immediately and offer an alternative date for a walk or talk.
  • If Lakeland Walks & Talks and the customer are unable to arrange a suitable alternative date then the customer will be offered a full refund of all sums paid to Lakeland Walks & Talks.
  • Lakeland Walks & Talks cannot accept responsibility for any cancellation due ‘force majeure’ such as natural disasters, fire, war, terrorist activity, adverse weather conditions, dangerous or unstable conditions or similar events outside our control. We will not refund or pay you any compensation or be liable for any other expenses to you in these circumstances.


  • A customer who wishes to change a booking must inform Lakeland Walks & Talks as soon as reasonably possible.
  • Changes to bookings may not be made within 7 days of the event (walk or talk)
  • Changes to bookings will be organised by Lakeland Walks & Talks with suitable arrangements made if possible.
  • If a customer wishes to cancel a booking with Lakeland Walks & Talks the customer must inform us via email.
  • Cancellations fees apply;
  • 28 or more days before start date: retention of deposit
  • 28 to 22 days before start date: 30%
  • 21 to 15 days before start date: 70%
  • 14 days or less before start date: 100%


  • Lakeland Walks & Talks takes no responsibility and will not be held responsible for death, personal injuries, accidents or loss or damage to property or belongings that occur to a customer, or any person attending a walk or event, during a walk or event.
  • Lakeland Walks & Talks will not be liable for any consequential or indirect loss resulting from the cancellation of a walk or event.
  • A booking is acceptance of the inherent risk in outdoor activities.
  • All customers must take sensible precautions to minimise any risk to themselves or others.


  • Customers must acknowledge that activities organised by Lakeland Walks & Talks involve strenuous exercise in order for customers to participate.
  • Customers should be of reasonable fitness and if in any doubt should seek professional medical advice.
  • It is the customers responsibility to ensure they are suitably equipped and fit.
  • Customers must inform Lakeland Walks & Talks of any medical conditions, allergies and/or special requirements.
  • By confirming a booking with Lakeland Walks & Talks the customer personally acknowledges these terms along with those of his/her party.
  • Lakeland Walks & Talks will allow dogs to accompany customers on the walks or events at the discretion of the guide and must be kept on a lead at all times. This provision includes guide dogs for the blind.
  • Customers must acknowledge equipment requirements for fell walking including suitable walking boots, weather dependent clothing and accessories.
  • Lakeland Walks & Talks reserves the right to refuse to allow any person without the appropriate equipment to take part in the walk or event at any time without refunding the customer or any member of the party.
  • Lakeland Walks & Talks takes no responsibility for providing food and drink to any customers taking part in any activities. Customers must ensure they have sufficient supplies for the activity being undertaken.
  • All bookings made with Lakeland Walks & Talks are made on the basis that customers will strictly observe any safety instructions given by the guide and that the decision of the guide is final. If a customer chooses to ignore safety instructions given the individual does so at his/her own risk.
  • Lakeland Walks & Talks reserves the right to change any activity whilst it is underway if, in the guide’s judgment, this is in the best interest/s of the group or an individual in the group.


  • All persons attending a Lakeland Walks & Talks event/activity under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or Guardian.
  • The parent or guardian must ensure the Under 16 is suitably equipped and comply with any instructions given.


  • Lakeland Walks & Talks advises customers to take out adequate travel and cancellation insurance to cover customers for the activity.
  • Lakeland Walks & Talks strongly advises customers take out insurance to cover death, personal injury, loss or damage to personal property / belongings.


  • In the unlikely event of any problems or complaint about any element of the walk or talk the customer should make these known to the guide or Lakeland Walks & Talks at the earliest opportunity so that the matter can be resolved as soon as possible.
  • Alternatively customers may email Lakeland Walks & Talks who will use its best endeavours to resolve the problem quickly and efficiently.


  • Lakeland Walks & Talks will only use the information that you provide about yourself for the purpose of fulfilling its part of the booking, ensuring that the walk or event is carried out safely.
  • We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.
